Call to arms and a bit of history

Hi Texturists,

A call to arms, can I ask people who go to YouTube to leave a comment, like and subscribe cos I have no idea wether you are getting into my world of sonic textures or not also tell your friends as I need to get this out there into the wide world thank you👍

My current influences and a bit of history
Going back to the sixties and early seventies as I’m getting into the Buchla Easel the vst version so a virtual instrument  by Arturia. I’d love the real thing maybe one day if the finances improve, as I’m learning it I’m starting to include it into more tracks, check out Deserted Lands on YouTube is a good example of it.  While on YouTube Also check out Don Buchla interviews sadly no longer with us but it’s great to hear his insites to create this wonderful instrument and his life also check out Suzanne Ciani loads of content on her but her work especially on the Buchla opened my eyes, her concerts are real cool

As an eclectic taste have a look at John Chowning you have to be careful here as apart from the electronic sounds he also seems to do acoustic country music, nothing wrong with that but if you want synth weirdness find something with a track called ‘Phone on it and you’ll be on the right path, btw he’s the guy who invented FM synthesis and had a large say in Yamaha’s DX7 the classic 80’s synth that everybody used at the time. I could go on but there’s a good piece in the Gaurdian online but a great interview on YouTube with him and Suzanne Ciani so if you’re into this stuff I urge you to check it out.

Well that’s about it for now that turned into a bit of a history lesson.

So till the next time keep strange

Your captain Keif and out
